The May gaming revenue figures show another drop.  But in spite of that, there's still a "feel" around here of excitement, just as there is every Spring as the weather warms and the crowds start coming.  We've noticed no difference in traffic, although there must be somewhat of a difference (that's the good news/bad news for locals).

Today the Press of AC ran an extensive piece on the fight (by some) to put slots at NJ race tracks.  The idea is to save horse racing in the state.  So why do we want to prop up horse racing which, with a few exceptions, simply cannot compete with other forms of gambling, not to metion entertainment.  (All due respect to horses, horse lovers and those in the business).
