Information & Reviews of Atlantic City Shows & Attractions

A Little Folks' Institution for a Half-Century

What with the Atlantic City Expressway and Garden State Parkway whisking eager gamblers into Atlantic City, there may be some sites never seen by some visitors to the area.  One of these may be Storybook Land.

While Storybook Land may be unknown to many, it is a regular destination to thousands of families of the Mid-Atlantic Region.  The main reason: it's truly dedicated to small children, not just a kids' section of a larger venue.  The rides, displays, seating and food are all designed with 2 to 10-year-olds in mind.  Of course parents and grand parents will enjoy a visit, too, but it's mostly because they get to observe their small offspring having a great time with few prohibitions.  (Yes, adults may have to squeeze into tiny seats once in a while).

Beginning every Spring the buses from schools start to arrive on weekdays and family minivans crowd the parking lot on weekends.  The crowds continue through the Summer; then there's a slight lull as the park gets ready for Halloween and Christmas themes.  It's been this way for generations of visitors.

What makes Storybook Land so popular?  So enduring?  No doubt because it has always been family-run.  There's continuity and a dedication not to be found with a corporate structure set up elsewhere.  In fact, the owners live on the premises.
